ABOUT ABOUT

Put your money where your mouth is! Meet Southern California food producers and those who want to support them with microloans or investment, and strengthen our local food system. Entrepreneurs will showcase products such as chocolate, coffee, gluten free energy bars, hot sauce, and pickles. Here short talks from people who are driving the local food movement forward in Southern California. Hosted by Slow Money SoCal, Long Beach Fresh, and Localism.

Come taste the local food scene and hear from drivers in the slow food movement. Products from numerous local foodmakers will be available for sampling and sale. And a selection of culinary entrepreneurs will showcase their growing businesses.

Slow Money Southern California connects farmers, entrepreneurs, investors, thought-leaders and everyday folks interested in developing alternatives that help strengthen and diversify our local food system as well as create opportunities to move money into our local economy. Focused on the special niche of social enterprises comprised of food and food related businesses, Slow Money SoCal is building economy from the ground up and uses the health of the soil as a guiding principle.

Long Beach Fresh is dedicated to expanding Long Beach’s local food economy and infrastructure in ways that benefit local communities. We think that everyone should have affordable access to good food – food that is nutritious, culturally relevant, and that has integrity in how it’s produced and distributed.

Localism is a Long Beach based startup focused on accelerating the local marketplace by incentivizing patrons to think local, creating opportunity for innovative local entrepreneurs, and lowering the risk threshold for independent businesses to help them grow. MADE in Long Beach is Localism's flagship retail concept, with products from over 100 local makers and bakers.
